DICE explains why new Battlefield 3 DLC has taken so long
The delay in releasing new DLC for Battlefield 3 is due to the team needing to recharge its batteries following the grueling run-in to launching the main game, according to a member of the development team. A Reddit post from DICE’s Alan Kertz, picked up by MP1st, explained that it took time to ramp up development again after the post-launch lull. What’s more, the studio would rather take its time and ensure a quality release rather than rush something out quickly. “The big reason that ‘[DLC is] taking so long’ is that we pushed hard on BF3, and lots of developers pushed vacations, parental leave and other things for a while to ship a product they could be proud about,” he wrote.
