Amazon adds in-app microtransactions for PC, Mac and browser game devs

Up until now, developers of Windows PC, Mac and browser-based games offered through Amazon haven’t been able to present microtransactions to consumers. Total bummer, right? Beginning today, however, developers can offer a multitude of extra power-ups or goofy hats in game for nominal fees, allowing players to enhance their experience while slowly bleeding out their wallets.

With the new service available now, developers can begin selling content at any time. In-app purchases will be billed through a player’s selected Amazon, making the process of paying for those piecemeal items easier.
